Introducing Mission Mobile
At the beginning of 2024, we launched Beam with a simple but ambitious thesis: give credit providers best-in-class tooling and data to drive incremental revenue and reduce bad debt — not just by improving underwriting, but by finding novel ways to embed our platform directly into the customer journey.
We had many great engagements and fruitful discussions, but we often found ourselves frustrated. Too often, prospective clients were slow to adopt emerging technology — even while acknowledging its advantages.
Today, building on the experience and lessons of the past 24 months, I’m excited to announce Mission Mobile — our new consumer brand, which will fully absorb Beam.
Mission Mobile is best described as a handset and connectivity provider, but at its core, it carries forward our original mission: to combine best-in-class engineering and data science to deliver a product experience dramatically better than the status quo. By pushing the limits of what’s technically possible, we want to help consumers unlock financial mobility and establish a stronger financial identity — through a productive asset that’s central to their lives: their phone.
We’re expanding our reach by partnering deeply with MNOs, becoming a value-adding part of their ecosystem.
Our platform is designed to serve customers across the spectrum — from first-time smartphone owners to those seeking a simpler way to buy an ultra-premium device. Wherever they are in their journey, we’ll meet them there.
Behind the scenes, our R&D team is developing the next generation of credit vetting — blending advanced machine learning models, including LLMs, with rich transactional and behavioural data. Our goal is to make credit decisioning faster, fairer, and more accurate, while opening access to customers who have traditionally been overlooked. We’ll share more on this as the work matures, but it’s already shaping how we think about the future of consumer finance.
