Today, we're excited to announce DNI's R500m investment in Mission Mobile, giving us the backing to accelerate our product roadmap and grow our customer base. Through our engagement with DNI, we've become convinced they're the right partner for us. Their approach to permanent capital and their involvement in the companies they invest in align with how we want to build Mission Mobile. We chose this path over traditional venture capital because we believe it's the right partnership for the business over the long term. The systems, distribution and customer relationships we're building need room to compound.
Over the last 12 months, the team has been hard at work expanding our core systems. We've built a custom consumer vetting engine, billing and payments platform, account management system, and point-of-sale and onboarding tools for our retail store network - all from the ground up. It's taken a huge amount of work, and I'm proud of where we are today. Anyone who has built these kinds of financial services platforms will appreciate the complexity of connecting real-time decisioning at the till with onboarding, recurring billing and payment reconciliation. Every sale starts a sequence of events that the platform needs to manage long after the customer leaves the store. Getting that right across a distributed retail network is demanding work, and it's central to the outcomes we want to deliver for our MNO partners and customers.
The systems, distribution and customer relationships we're building need room to compound.”
Our mission is guided by a simple belief: Mission Mobile can create value for both our MNO partners and consumers. We focus on delivering value on both sides:
- MNOs should see risk-free, incremental recurring revenue.
- Consumers should enjoy the latest smartphones, discounted voice and data rates, and compelling rewards and loyalty benefits.
This guides our product pipeline and the decisions we make about what to build next. We're particularly interested in the connection between device access, SIM usage and subscriber loyalty. There's an opportunity to design these together, with better subscriber economics for the MNO and a more compelling proposition for the consumer.
One area we're particularly excited about is how this could reshape the prepaid experience. We see an opportunity to bring smartphones, preferential voice and data rates, and meaningful rewards into a more connected offering. The ambition is to build a relationship that lasts beyond the next recharge, while keeping the flexibility customers value in prepaid. For our MNO partners, that opens up an interesting combination of recurring revenue, stronger retention and greater customer lifetime value. This is a clear focus for our product roadmap, and we'll have more to share as it takes shape.
As we grow, we'll be expanding our team. We're looking for people with a keen interest in fintech who are excited by startups and the challenge of scaling consumer platforms. The intersection of financial services, telecoms and physical distribution gives us plenty of hard, interesting problems to solve - and plenty of room for people to take ownership. We want Mission Mobile to be a place where future founders get their start, gaining firsthand experience of building a business alongside a team of hungry, ambitious operators.
Lastly, I'd like to thank our partners for trusting us and believing in our vision. We've built this together, and we're excited about what comes next. If you'd like to learn more about Mission Mobile and what we can offer MNOs, retailers and dealer networks, we'd love to hear from you.
We'll have more to share soon!
